At long last my prolonged break came to an end and I’m back to my blog and to you, my lovely readers! Hope you all had a nice time during these holidays :) Thank you so much for all the kind wishes I’ve got from you on my blog and on social media, I really appreciate it! Once again I’d like to wish everyone an amazing 2016 ahead! :) xx

So let’s get back to our beauty stuff that we all love so much!  :) I’ve decided to start this year with the post about one of my recent favorites – Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturizer. I’ve already mentioned it a couple of times, but today I’d like to share more details about this product.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Collection

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturizer is a part of Caudalie Vinoperfect Collection that consists of 4 products:

This collection is all about Viniferine, which is claimed to reduce dark spots. It says on the package “In vineyards of the past, women used grapevine sap, rich in Viniferine, to create a radiant complexion and reduce dark spots”. Caudalie also claims that this ingredient is 62x more effective than Vitamin C.

Personally, I think that Viniferine ingredient in Caudalie Tinted Moisturizer is only good as an antioxidant, because in spite of all the claims I didn’t notice that this product visibly lightened my freckles/dark spots. This moisturizer also contains another very effective antioxidant – Tocopherol (=vitamin E), which is one of my favorite skin care ingredients. As for reducing dark spots, I would probably rely more on Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, as it is a more concentrated product than moisturizers.

Shades

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturizer is available in two shades: 01 light and 02 medium. I’ve tried both of them and strangely enough I find that the medium shade has slightly more pigment and covers imperfections better than the light one. Though both of them even out the skin tone very well.

caudalie vinoperfect radiance tinted moisturizer

Pros:

  • It is multitasking: evens out skin tone (natural pigments) + hydrates (contains hyaluronic acid) + protects (SPF20)
  • The shade perfectly adapts to the skin color.
  • It feels lightweight.
  • It covers imperfections, but has a very natural-looking finish. It looks 100% like skin, yet more flawless and even.
  • It is oil and paraben free.
  • Suitable for all skin types.

Cons:

  • It contains fragrance ingredients, which might cause allergic reaction if the skin is hypersensitive.
  • It contains Octinoxate, which is widely used in sunscreen products and proved to be highly effective SPF. However, it protects skin only against UVA.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturizer Ingredients:

Water, Dicaprylyl Carbonate*, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Octinoxate), Isononyl Isononanoate, Butylene Glycol*, Dimethicone, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Isoamyl Laurate*, Cetearyl Glucoside*, Cetearyl Alcohol*, Bentonite, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate*, Fragrance, Stearic Acid*, Palmitic Acid*, Bisabolol*, Benzyl Alcohol, Palmitoyl Grapevine Shoot Extract*, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Tocopherol*, Ethylhexylglycerin, Acacia Senegal Gum*, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Glycerophosphate*, Citric Acid*, Hyaluronic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Phytate*, Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool, [+/- May Contain : Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Ci 77491 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77492 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides)].
*Plant origin

Overall, the list of ingredients is good. However, if you are in your 30s or elder it’s best to apply Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturizer after an anti-aging serum.

Coverage/Finish

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturizer provides a light coverage, spreads easily and leaves a smooth velvety finish without seeming greasy. As for the radiance, I would describe it more like a natural glow rather than anything too luminous.

My complexion is not even: I have redness, a broken capillary on my cheek, freckles and slightly dark circles under the eyes. Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturizer does not  cover all the blemishes, but it perfectly evens out my skin tone, making it look healthier. To me, the perfect makeup is the one that looks flawless but feels very lightweight. That’s why I fell in love with this tinted moisturizer, whenever I apply it and look in the mirror, it’s impossible to see either I’ve applied any foundation or not, as the finish is very natural-looking.

On the selfie below taken with my cell-phone, I used Caudalie Tinted Moisturizer on top of  Clarins Beauty Flash Balm (perfect combination to get that fresh-looking skin), Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Concealer under the eyes and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage on broken capillaries and red blemishes. And although it was not my best skin day, the flaws became invisible and overall skin tone looked pretty even :)

Conclusion

Caudalie Tinted Moisturizer is good for anyone who:

1) prefers a light coverage and natural-looking finish

2) hardly has any time to apply makeup in the morning and likes multitasking products

3) feels confused about different tones and undertones of foundations; tinted moisturizer adapts to any skin color

Since I’ve bought Caudalie Tinted Moisturizer, I hardly wear any foundation anymore, especially for a day makeup. I just make sure I apply a full coverage concealer where needed, set it all with powder and my skin is ready in minutes. I also like that it hardly requires any blending, it does not leave any mask effect on the jaw line, and the color looks 100% like my skin. Will I repurchase it again? Absolutely sure, YES! :)

Caudlaie is a great brand. So many beautiful products. I was given a couple of their products for Christmas, a hand-cream and a lip comforter. Really worked ever so well.

Great to hear their tinted moisturiser is also great :)

Just like you, I usually like to apply a lightweight base and go back in with a full-coverage concealer only where I need it. This tinted moisturizer sounds great!

I’ve never heard about grapevines being used like this in the past. Very interesting.

I prefer natural skin most of the time, and I am just really lazy most of the time, so it sounds like a perfect product for me. I haven’t used any products from Caudlalie, however read a lot about their products. If I get a chance, I would like to sample it.

I’ve been looking for a new tinted moisturizer to replace my Giorgio Armani one. While I would like a little bit more coverage, doing this with a bit of concealer where needed is a pretty good option. Plus, so many pros!

The pros seem to really outweigh the cons here; sounds like a great product! Thankfully, with some applied sunscreen that covers both UVA and UVB, it can fill in the holes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I hope you have an amazing weekend!
