Weleda day creamWild Rose Smoothing Day Cream was my first product by “Weleda” and I stayed very pleased with its quality.

I bought this cream last winter when my skin started to be quite dehydrated, as my previous moisturiser had not hydrated my skin enough. Everything I needed was to get my skin back to its normal moisture level.

In spite it says on the package that Wild Rose cream by Weleda is for a dry skin type, I think it is also good for a dehydrated skin condition. Just for a reference, dry skin is lack of oils and it is prone to be dry all year round; dehydrated skin is mostly lack of water and as a rule it is just a temporary condition. To my opinion, this cream is perfect for both. Even if your skin is normal/combination, prone to dehydration, you may still like this cream.

It has a very rich consistency but it dissolves quickly into the skin. I needed just few applications to hydrate my skin enough and to get rid of all dry patches. So, the cream worked quite quickly (in the evening I was using “Chroma White TRx Pure Night” by Dermalogica, which also helped me to combat dry patches). Also, I really liked how incredibly soft it made my skin just after the very first application.

As for the anti-aging properties, it does not have any firming effect and does not make the fine lines to disappear. But the ingredients of the cream replenish and support skin against moisture loss. Besides, thanks to antioxidants, this cream helps to protect skin cells from environmental damage. So, probably with time and regular use of this moisturiser the fine lines may look softer. It also contains some natural ingredients like Peach Kernel Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Rose Seed Oil, extracts of Orpine, Horsetail and Commiphora Myrrha.

They say it can be also used as a makeup base. But frankly speaking, I didn’t like it under cream foundation, as the foundation did not spread evenly and was difficult to set. I prefer to wait for 10-15 minutes before applying my make up or to use a proper make up base.

But overall, it is a good quality product and I would definitely recommend it to people who have dehydrated or dry skin, especially if you prefer natural ingredients in skin care products.
